The Yotlinx Easter Weekend was created with a view to some nice Spring sailing to start off the season. Ha!

David E strains to see through the hail!

The trip got off to a good start with some new and old Yotlinx members registering and bringing a good mix of experience. The crew was a mix of southern and northerners most of whom had never met before let alone sailed together. We chartered a Jeaneau SO 42i from Lymington Yacht Charters, with a good heater! As the weekend approached, it was clear from the forecast that we were going to get winter! and an opportunity to test the wet weather gear. Good Friday arrived along with the numbers 9 & 10 in the shipping forecast and as we clambered on board the yacht, sure enough the marina anemometer showed the wind gusting to 50mph. So we headed into Lymington for the Friday evening and heard tell of cancelled Easter Sailing events left right and centre. We had a nice dinner at the Angel though and had a chance to get to know each other. Ian and I (David M) were old universtiy friends who had seen little of each other for 35 years and I had sailed with Doug on other Yotlinx inspired events. Other than that Carol, David E, Doug and Ian had never met before.
