Dec/14 - Watch out for that rudder loss!
We lost our rudder in full sail about 1 mile of the coast during my day skipper qualification trip. It was an unplanned and scary, but a great to experience it as I hope I never ever experience it again. I would like to share my learning and hear from others who have a similar experience. I am keen to learn what can be done to get some POOR BOY steering when you have no ruder?

Passage planning calls for alternative havens, we knew as we set out for Ramsgate that weather forecasts were confused and we would deal with what we came across and keep several alternative havens in mind. In teh event we never reached the first check point!

Even a freezing cold and windy weekend can turn out OK.
Oct/15 - More (Swale) Mud
A simple matter of moving Aurai from her mooring in the Medway to a Boatyard at Faversham in Kent a trip of approx 25Nm and close encounters with more mud!
